words by Leneia O’Hara
I swear.
By the moon and the stars in the sky.
I’ll be there.  April 11th, 2014 at Lumier.  Hearing the luscious harmonies of All 4 One, and reminiscing with the songs I knew, and loving the new music.
Wait, what?  Did I just spill the beans?  Whoops.  My bad.  But we are GEEKED about NEW music coming from All 4 One!

Jamie Jones and Delious Kennedy of All 4 One took some time from their busy schedules to talk about their career, success, and what’s next!

Delux:
So it’s official.  You are 21.  All for One is now legal!  How does it feel?  Congratulations!
Jamie Jones:
Yeah, yeah.  Thank you.
Delux:
I love that you guys have been so successful and stayed so positive.  How have you avoided controversy and drama in 21 years?
Delious Kennedy:
By just being thankful.  *laugh*  Realizing that it could be anyone in our position.  And I also think, personality-wise, no one in the group has that personality.  Well, maybe Tony sometimes… *laugh*  When he’s in the airport and his luggage is overweight, but besides that…  *laughs*  But seriously, we’re all just not that person.  And also, I would attribute it to our parents.  Now that we’re all older and have children, you see how important it is our children have a good upbringing so that when they’re out and on their own, all those little lessons and nuggets you’ve been depositing since they could talk!  We want them to remember those things and put them to use in their own lives.  We all grew up in great households with families that loved us.  We were involved with church and school, and we were also held to a standard in our homes we had to ALL step up to – even on the road without our parents.  We held those values.
Delux:
What are 5 things that have attributed to a 21-year successful career?
Jamie Jones:
When we first started, everyone would ask us our goals.
(1) We wanted to be like the groups that paved the way before us, like The Four Tops, The Temptations; groups who were together for like 40 years.  Still going strong.
(2) Speaking it into existence – saying we’ll be together for a very long time
(3) Even bigger:  we are very like-minded.
(4) Unlike other groups, we actually get along well.  We’ve never had issues in our history of being friends and
(5) Love for making quality great music, even now.
We all just want to continue to make great music for people who want to hear it.
Delux:
The last album I have from y’all is from 2009.  It was VERY well received, and had a great great music.  I loved it.  So I have to know when you’re giving us MORE?
Delious Kennedy:
Were in the studio NOW for the 20th Anniversary Album.  10 re-released pieces, and 10 new tunes, including a Duet of “I Swear” with John Michael Montgomery.
Delux:
No way!  That’s exciting!  So does that mean there will be another tour?
Jamie Jones:
Oh yeah. Oh yeah.  We’re definitely gonna get out to support, and we’re definitely looking forward to getting this record out into the hands of our fans and to the people who just enjoy good music.  We’re also looking forward to getting it out because one of the great things about the ’90’s and generations before us:  you didn’t just record great records and then sell them and that was IT.  You actually went out on the road to try to show people you can not only sing them like on the record, but even take them to the next step.  We really pride ourselves on our live performances, getting out and putting on a great show with the talents God has so graciously given us to hopefully make someone feel a little better that evening.
Delux:
What would you like your fans to know?
Delious Kennedy:
First of all, we’d like to thank our fans for sticking with us for so long.  We’re constantly on the road, so make sure to come see us.  And secondly, we are on our own social media sites and actually check it ourselves and answer questions ourselves.
So they can check us out on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/all4onepage
Jamie Jones:
If I can add to what Delious is saying, though he kind of said it, people always ask, “Did you guys break up?”  or whatever.  I just want people to know we have never broken up.  Every year we’ve been working, whether it’s been overseas or at home in the states.  We’ve just been enjoying and making and singing music together since 1993 when we started.
