municipal

Municipal elections are being held throughout the state of Missouri region today. Polling places are open across the county and state where many residents/voters will vote on issues that directly effect their communities and local issues across the state.

Mayoral races take place in various municipalities like Maryland Heights, Bel-Nor, Hazelwood and more across St. Louis County. For other municipalities, the race for selecting or reselecting Alderpersons are on the ballot. Various school districts have also placed new school board seats and bond issues on the ballot.

This will be the first election in which the new Missouri photo identification law, Show It 2 Vote will apply. In the past, voters were only allowed to use a government-issued photo ID (a driver or non-drivers license, a U.S. passport or military ID). With the new law, registered voters will be allowed to show another form of identification like a bank statement or paycheck stub if they do not have a photo ID. A form to confirm the voter’s identity will need to be signed.

Polls will remain open until 7 p.m. To find your polling place, click here or visit the St. Louis County Board of Elections website.
