Every year, the most cultured and anticipated music festival arrives in New Orleans, Louisiana. Coined as the “Party with a Purpose”, artists and supporters the same gather in the city to celebrate, embrace, and live it up for the weekend long event. The annual Essence Fest celebrated its 22nd year over the 4th of July weekend. Headliners like Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, and Chance the Rapper, grace the main stage at the Mercedez-Benz Superdome.
If stargazing wasn’t enough, the Essence Festival 2017 also included motivational seminars, beauty & style demonstrations, and of course noted Southern cuisine. Fundraiser filled the entire city with the one goal of giving back to the community. One particular event included the Day of Service, which included its first-ever celebrity basketball game with Master P and his team, Team Hope Nola. This year focused on serving the city’s seniors and the youth.
From breathtaking performances to inspiring community outreach, Essence Fest 2017 is one to definitely be remembered.
