Lola STL Music Fest Presented by Gentlemen Jack and Leisure Studies Saturday, October 8 line-up moves outside; Lola and Vintage Vinyl announce Van Hunt and Dam-Funk in-storeThe Saturday, October 8 afternoon event will move just outside the steps of Lola and feature a funky live music line-up, activities for kids and adults and live art by St. Louis Arts Project. Also, Lola and Vintage Vinyl plan in-store listening parties and autograph signings with Van Hunt and Dam-Funk.
(Monday, September 26) – The afternoon line-up on Saturday, October 8, the third and final day of the inaugural Lola STL Music Fest, has moved just outside the steps of Lola. The outside afternoon event will be community and arts focused, free and open to the public. A vibrant regional and national line-up of funk, soul and hip hop is planned for the afternoon and will feature legends like Fatlip of Pharcyde, the vey groovy Fresh Heir, Mathias of Earthworms and eight other bands. There will also be fun activities for kids and adults, as well as, live art by St. Louis Arts Project who will create a community themed mural on the side of Lola throughout the afternoon.
Saturday will also include Lola’s award winning eats and hand-crafted drinks, a perfect compliment to the afternoon’s live entertainment. The day will feature the “Fire and Ice” Mixology competition with the city’s brightest bar tending talent competing against one another to create the best cocktails based on presentation and taste. Also, there will be a Creole-style BBQ all day long plus discounts and specials that will happen throughout the week as well.Lola wants to work with the community to create a clean and attractive space just outside its’ steps, in the Lucas Park area, for the Saturday afternoon events. Therefore, Lola is inviting the public to join them and help clean up on Saturday, October 8 at 10:00 AM. By investing time and energy into improving and cleaning the area together both Lola and the community will help make Saturday afternoon a very special event for all.In addition to the Lola STL Music Fest, Lola has teamed up with local institution Vintage Vinyl to bring creative masterminds Van Hunt and Dam-Funk into the store to do autograph signings, chat with fans and host a listening party for their respective new releases. On Thursday, September 6 Van Hunt will be at Vintage Vinyl from 5:00 – 6:00 PM and the following day Dam-Funk will be there at the same time.The full line-up for the first Lola STL MusicFest is below.
