For context, here’s Lamar’s full quote to Billboard: “I wish somebody would look in our neighborhood knowing that it’s already a situation, mentally, where it’s f—ed up. What happened to [Michael Brown] should’ve never happened. Never. But when we don’t have respect for ourselves, how do we expect them to respect us? It starts from within. Don’t start with just a rally, don’t start from looting — it starts from within.”

Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, didn’t quite agree with Lamar on the matter. He responded through Twitter on Saturday (Jan. 10), writing: “Dear black artists, dont talk down on the black community like you are Gods gift to n—az everywhere.”

Lupe Fiasco, who earlier got into another social media beef with Azealia Banks, responded to Cudi on Twitter by telling him to “shut up.” “How about you stop shitting on the people who really cared about your well being when this biz was ripping you apart. Fake ass @KidCudi,” Fiasco tweeted.

Cudi then responded to Fiasco, tweeting: “My comments come from a place of love. Sorry if I offended anyone, except Poopé Fiasco. Fuck that n—az feelings haha dweeb.”
