As violence increases across the country, another young rapper has been slain. Earlier this evening, South Florida rapper—XXXTentacion was pronounced dead. Born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, the 20-year-old artist was the victim of a drive-by shooting in Deerfield Beach, FL.
The rapper whose name has been attached to several court cases was recently in the middle of an alleged violence towards women and other felony charges controversy. According to a 911 dispatch call, the shooters were two black males and said to have been driving a black Dodge Journey with tinted windows and black wheels.
TMZ reports XXXTentacion was shopping for motorcycles when the gunfire began. The gunman reportedly ran up to the rapper’s vehicle and began shooting as he was leaving the dealership.
According to witnesses, a Louis Vuitton bag was removed from his car after the gunman fired multiple shots. XXXTentacion was left lifeless and without a pulse inside of his vehicle. Emergency personnel called to the scene rushed him to the hospital where he late succumbed to his wounds.
The rapper was recently on house arrests while awaiting trial on the pending charges that include domestic battery by strangulation, witness tampering and false imprisonment, and aggravated battery of a pregnant woman. His house arrest was suspended so he could go on tour.
No word yet on if anyone was able to identify the gunmen responsible for his murder. As of right now, no one has been arrested.
